This playground project was developed around a central castle-themed structure that shapes the overall play experience and provides a clear point of orientation. Slides and a rope bridge expand the play possibilities, supporting movement, climbing, and exploration within a defined layout. The playground planning and construction process led by Spring playgrounds focused on creating a practical and well-structured solution for public spaces. An architectural office was involved in the design process, contributing to a balanced outcome that meets safety, usability, and durability requirements.

About the Project and the Process
Highlights of the Project
The playground is characterised by a clear spatial organisation built around a central castle element. The combination of slides and a rope bridge adds variety to the play experience while maintaining a coherent layout. The design supports intuitive use and suits public environments where clarity, durability, and ease of maintenance are essential, reflecting Spring playgrounds’ approach to playground planning and construction for public authorities.
The client sought a public playground with a distinct visual focus and a strong central play structure. The design needed to accommodate a broad age range, encourage active and imaginative play, and use materials suitable for long-term outdoor use. Maintenance considerations and operational efficiency for public authorities were also part of the brief.
The design phase focused on defining the castle structure as the core element around which the playground is organised. Slides and the rope bridge were arranged to create a natural sequence of play that supports movement and flow within the space. As part of the playground planning and construction process, safety, material selection, and compliance with relevant standards were addressed. The involvement of an architectural office supported the creation of a reliable and clearly structured public playground.
The visual concept is based on a castle motif that encourages imaginative play while maintaining a restrained and orderly appearance. HDPE panels are combined with rope elements and slides to create a cohesive play environment. The overall result is a playground that integrates well into public surroundings and represents Spring playgrounds’ approach to well-considered playground planning and construction.
