Neighbourhood Playground for Older Children and Toddlers

This neighbourhood playground was designed with a clear split between an older play area and a toddler area, so each group gets a space that fits the way they play.

The older zone is centred around a combined structure for active play, enriched with playful printed panels that add colour, character, and a story like layer to the experience.

The toddler zone supports imaginative, everyday role play with a gas station feature that works well with ride on toys, alongside a toddler climbing and slide element and two spring riders. Nearby, there is another playground we delivered for the same community, featuring a very large central structure.

Planning Phase

The layout was planned around two complementary experiences. The older zone concentrates active play into one main structure, while the toddler zone combines pretend play with simple climbing and motion elements, creating a confident, repeatable play cycle. The design balances a clean, practical layout with playful features that encourage creativity and social interaction. The older zone promotes active movement and challenge, while the toddler area brings everyday role play to life through the gas station and themed spring riders. Together, the two zones create a cohesive playground that works as both an active play destination and a neighborhood gathering point.
