In this project, Spring playgrounds developed a story playground concept that brings together active play, imagination, and visual content within one outdoor environment.
Since the site serves a large newly built neighbourhood, the aim was to create a playground with a clear identity, everyday usability, and a strong presence in the public realm for children and families of different ages.
An important part of the project was the idea of encouraging literacy and imagination in a natural, welcoming way through the public space itself.
When visual content is integrated into a playground, it can invite children to observe, ask questions, interpret images, and build their own small stories while they play.
This adds educational and emotional value without changing the open and enjoyable nature of the playground. In this way, the site supports not only movement and exploration, but also curiosity, language, and meaningful shared experience.
